Dr. Meera Soni Obstetrics and Gynaecology offers professional caesarean delivery services for patients who need or want to have a surgical birth. Our team makes sure that both the mother and the baby are safe and supported.
Why Are C-Sections Needed?
A C-section, which is short for caesarean delivery, is a type of surgery that is done to deliver a baby when a vaginal delivery isn’t safe or possible. It means cutting into the abdomen and uterus to get the baby out.
If the doctor knows that a vaginal birth would be dangerous, like when the baby is in a breech or transverse position or the mother has certain health problems, they may schedule a C-section.
Other C-sections are emergency deliveries that happen when there are problems with the mother or baby during pregnancy or labour, like problems with the placenta or complications with labour.
Why a Caesarean Delivery is Needed
- Foetal Distress: If the baby is in distress, like having an abnormal heart rate.
- Breech Presentation: When the baby isn’t head-down close to the due date.
- Placenta Previa: When the placenta is in front of the cervix.
- Previous C-section: Because of the risk of the uterus breaking.
- Previous C-section: Because of the risk of the uterus breaking. Health problems in the mother, like high blood pressure or active genital herpes.
- Multiple births: for safety reasons or if the first baby isn’t in the right place.
Before labour starts, it’s important for expecting parents to talk to their doctor about their birth plans and any worries they may have. Our goal is always the safety and health of both mother and baby, whether the birth was planned ahead of time or because of unexpected problems.
